7 Problems a Lab Technician faces with a Digital Hot Plate Stirrer !
Problems
Solutions
1.
Unexpectedly Heated to High Temperature
The laboratory Hot Plate tends to heat up unexpectedly even after the heat is set to an even level. This leads to causing accidents in the laboratories.
Heat Control
DAN Logitech’s Digital Hotplate with Magnetic Stirrer has an automatic high-temperature dual PT-sensor cutoff that turns the hot plate off if it exceeds the set temperature.
2.
Damage due to Spilled Liquids
The spillage during the experiments damages the magnetic hot plate and its controls as there is no spillway system. This, in return, damages or reduces the instrument’s life.
Innovative Spillaway
The spill-away slots are designed to pass the spilled liquids away from the users moreover, the spillage does not damage the controls and at the same time making it easy for the user to clean the lab hotplate.
3.
No Chemical Resistance
The hot plates are not resistant to chemicals, leading to patches formed on Hotplate and poor working.
Resistant to Chemicals
DAN Logitech’s Hotplate is highly resistant to chemicals. In addition, it is wash-proof and leaves no marks when the chemicals are spilled over it.
4.
Challenges Replacing the Hot Plate
A damaged laboratory hot plate is tough to replace by any person. It requires a technical engineer to open the hot plate and replace it with a new one. A lot of time is consumed in this process.
Cera-Click System
The innovative Cera-Click System in DAN Logitech’s Hotplates makes it easy for user to replace the plate. The Cera-Click System has 3 simple steps that replaces the Ceramic Plate within a minute & saves a lot of time.
5.
Non-Certified Magnetic Stirrer
Most of the hot plates are not certified, which defines that they are not a quality product. Furthermore, it leads to high risk and user safety.
UL, CE, and CSA Certified Hot Plates
The Magnetic Stirrers with hot plates manufactured at DAN Logitech are UL, CSA & CE certified, which means that these are quality products and high safety and standards
6.
inCompatible with Laboratory Software
The Digital Lab Hotplates are usually not compatible with any laboratory software because of which the user can't conduct experiments on multiple hotplates in multiple labs remotely.
Labs-Connect Software Compatibility
DAN Logitech’s Wi-Fi-enabled hotplates are highly recommended which are compatible with the Labs-Connect Software provided for free and enables the user to control the lab instruments remotely worldwide.
7.
Limited Range of Hotplates
There is no diversity in the range of hotplates available. Barely 2 or 3 kinds of hotplates are available for diligent work operations.
Wide Range of Hotplates
DAN Logitech Instruments manufactures 28 kinds of magnetic stirrer with and without hot plates made of ceramic, aluminum, stainless steel, adaptor compatible top plates.

FDC LTDDigital Hot Plate with Magnetic Stirrer
A hot plate is a heating element used to heat the solutions evenly in the beaker or vessel placed on it. The hot plate can be heated electronically using an electromagnetic field. Hot plates are easy and safe to use. They provide a fast and uniform heating with excellent performance. Working with hotplates saves a lot of time.
- Compact Design
- Robustness
- Flexibility
- Dynamic Body
- Shockproof
- Water Resistant
- Uniformity in temperature
The hot plate comes in various types mainly Aluminium, Stainless Steel and Ceramic Glass. Different types of hot plates are used at different heating levels.
- Aluminium Hot Plate – It is used to achieve thermal changes on the plate. This hot plate rapidly cools down and heats up instantly. The Aluminium Hotplate is best used when the experiment is done using adaptors.
- Aluminium Hot Plate (Silicon Coated) – This type of hotplate is generally used for 5-Position and 15-Position Magnetic Stirrers. Silicon is skid-free. It prevents the beakers from slipping while the stirring is going on.
- Stainless Steel Hot Plate (Polished) – This plate is used at single-position magnetic stirrers. It is a rust free and non-magnetic plate. It is non-reactive to glass beakers and vessels.
- Stainless Steel Hot Plate (Ceramic Coated) – The ceramic Coated hotplate is easy to clean. After experimentation, no patches of the vessel or liquid are left on the plate. This plate is non-reactive.
- Glass Ceramic Hot Plate – This hotplate is completely made up of glass ceramic. The melting point of this plate is above 1200º C. This type of hotplate is used when the liquids require excessive heat.
- Adaptor Compatible
A Hot Plate with Magnetic Stirrer is a table top instrument used to quickly spin or mix a solution with the help of a generated magnetic field. The first Magnetic Stirrer was invented by Richard Stringham of Utah in 1917. He named the stir bar as “Flea” after perceiving certain changes while stirring like the way it jumped and spun in the flask. This laboratory instrument has fixed safety circuits and it meets the international safety standards. It is commonly used in the chemistry and biology labs to mix the components of the solutions and write observations.
The urge of Magnetic Stirrers with Hot Plates arose when the scientists discovered inadequacy in their experiments because of the following reasons :
- The stir bar gets stuck in a viscous mixture due to solid lumps.
- The bar gets ruptured from drive management.
- Insufficient mixing of the solution.
- Damage due to spilled liquids.
